چکیده

Methods (i) 138 HIV+/TB+ patients enrolled in the CAMELIA trial (ANRS 1295-CIPRA/KH001-DAIDS-ES ID10425) in Cambodia and 36 HIV+ patients with CD4 T cells < 200/mm included (ii) NK cells repertoire analysis by immuno-staining in whole blood and, (iii) NK cells degranulation activity and cytokine production by CD107a essay with and without stimulation. After starting of TB therapy in HIV+/TB+ patients, the time points were weeks 2, 8, 14 and 34. Half of the patients started HAART at week 2 and the other half at week 8. The time point of HIV+/TBwere week 0 and 8. The results obtained at baseline and following HAART are presented.

Natural killer cell degranulation capacity predicts early onset of the immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS) in HIV-infected patients with tuberculosis.

Immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS) is a common and potentially serious complication occurring in HIV-infected patients being treated for tuberculosis (TB) using combined antiretroviral treatment. A role of adaptive immunity has been suggested in the onset of IRIS, whereas the role of natural killer (NK) cells has not yet been explored. The present study sought to examine the inv...

Lower Pre-Treatment T Cell Activation in Early- and Late-Onset Tuberculosis-Associated Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome

BACKGROUND Tuberculosis-associated immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (TB-IRIS) is an inflammatory complication in HIV-TB co-infected patients receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART). The role of disturbed T cell reconstitution in TB-IRIS is not well understood. We investigated T cell activation and maturation profiles in patients who developed TB-IRIS at different intervals during ART....

Side Effects of the Immune System: Lessons from Tuberculosis- Related Immune Reconstitution Inflammatory Syndrome

human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients attributable to the recovery of the immune system during antiretroviral therapy. A growing number of researches on this syndrome have been conducted in recent years, but IRIS in children has not been widely studied. We report the case of a 4.5 month-old, tuberculosis (TB)-HIV co-infected girl who developed IRIS two months after beginning anti...

Tuberculosis associated immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome in patients infected with HIV: meningitis a potentially life threatening manifestation

BACKGROUND Tuberculosis (TB) is the most common co infection in HIV-infected persons in India, requiring concomitant administration of anti TB and antiretroviral therapies. Paradoxical worsening of tuberculosis after anti-retroviral therapy (ART) initiation is frequently seen. OBJECTIVE To study the frequency, clinical presentation and outcome of paradoxical tuberculosis associated immune rec...

Thoracic manifestations of paradoxical immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome during or after antituberculous therapy in HIV-negative patients.

Immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS) is a consequence of exaggerated and dysregulated host's inflammatory response to invading microorganism, leading to uncontrolled inflammatory reactions. IRIS associated with tuberculosis (TB) is well recognized among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients receiving highly active antiretroviral therapy, but it is less common among ...
